The sport of gymnastics has been a huge part of my life. From athlete, to coach, to owner, to parent.

However, during the Covid-19 closures I was forced into more time to focus on some of

my other passions. My husband suggested, “Why not take your other passions and incorporate them

into one?” During some soul searching, I realized my passions were gymnastics, coaching and animals.

After several weeks of thinking of how to do this, I came up with the idea of holding a gymnastics

competition at a zoo. What an experience it could be! From there things started to form into REAL

possibilities!

 

The Zoo of choice was a no brainer… America’s Teaching Zoo in Moorpark was already a part of my

life. My oldest daughter attended and graduated from Moorpark College’s EATM program. EATM

stand for “Exotic Animal Training Management”. After a few phones’ calls and conversations with the

Zoo Manager, the Moorpark College Athletic Director, and the Moorpark Administration my

competition is now a go. I am so very excited! I hope you and your athletes will join the first ever,

“2023 Zootastic Classic”. I plan to make this event an unforgettable one!
